A Little Valentine Project

One of the things I love about having girls is that I can dream up creative and fun activities we can do together (crafts, nail salon, shopping, makeup, dance…)! Valentine’s Day was the perfect event to do my first mom-daughter project with Gia. I thought of a simple enough crafts project for a 21month old and decided on… ribbon bracelets!

And, so, on Monday night, we claimed jurisdiction over the living room and flashed the Do Not Disturb sign to the boys (and little Georgia).

Here is what I thought we needed:

a peg (found here)

all sorts of ribbons to choose from, a pair of scissors, double-sided tissue tape, pipe cleaners, soft foam heart cut-outs

and a cute, little assistant!

Gia is 3 months shy of turning 2 years old. She is hyperactive, overly-curious, distracted. Albeit to say, I ended up doing all the crafting and she, all the going around and grabbing (tape, ribbons, pipe cleaners, all the nearby toys she can reach).

Oh, I forget! She helped choose the heart colors for each of us.

Purple for me…

Yellow for AJ…

Blue for Gabe (notice how Georgia is upset over being strapped to her rocking chair, haha!)…

Thirty minutes or so was too long for Gia to keep still. And she didn’t want her own bracelet (hmp :P), nor did she want one for Georgia (hmm..). Overall, stress level was low and mom-daughter bonding was perfect!

How about you? How was your share of pinks, rainbows, and valentines?
