Mom Tina lovingly writes about her little girl : Maia, our little tank, weighed in at a hefty 10 lbs. 7 oz when she was born, after taking her sweet time in Mommy’s belly for 41 weeks and 2 days. Now, at almost 7 months, she has started trying to figure out how anything that moves or makes a sound (mamaroo, walker, her Elmo Live toy) works. Her best buds are Freddie the Firefly and Max the Monkey (her sock monkey). She wrinkles her nose when she smiles; and when she’s giddily happy, does an awesome “Klingon face”.
She gets startled by the sound of her own sneeze. She loves the color red, Bubble Guppies and The Little Mermaid (just the “Part of Your World” part). She loves playing silent peek-a-boo with her Daddy (who she thinks is the bee’s knees and can’t get any cooler if he invented the color red and danced around the house wearing a tutu). We talk to her in English, Tagalog, Kapampangan, Italian (this one courtesy of Lolo, Lola, Tito and Tita). Lola Olivia (who she’s named after) taught her the very Pinoy “klosopen” (“close/open”). Lola has yet to teach her “beautiful eyes”, but I think she has that one down pat. She’s got Daddy wrapped around her little finger, although Daddy disagrees. Tell that to the shiny new iPad 3 that now has tiny little fingerprints on the screen on top of slobber.
